REVIEW OF 2ND CITIZENS ADVISORY GROUP MEETING
  • Discussed the Project Purpose and Need
    • Improve safety along the route
    • Improve the geometric characteristics of the route
    • Provide improved Level of Service for all vehicle types
    • Preserve the historic and pastoral nature of the region by minimizing impacts from the roadway footprint on these features.

    • Looked at the Level of Service for a 2-lane and
    •    4-lane route.
    • 2-lane level of service is “D”
    • 4-lane level of service is “B”

  • Divided into Subcommittees and developed a final list of criteria.
  • Separated out design issues from weighting criteria.
  • Design issues will be included in the minutes and carried through to the next phases of the project.

  • DESIGN ISSUES IDENTIFIED:
  • 1.  Provide ample signage for tourism sites
  • 2.  Provide roadway aesthetics, particularly
  • as  a gateway to Bardstown
  • 3.  Minimize the use of aboveground utilities
  • 4. Maximize the use of landscaping along project route

RESULTS OF 2nd SURVEY
  • Mailed out 779 surveys – primarily to residents of the corridor.
  • Received 191 responses.
  • The responses provided the weights for the criteria list used to look at the alignments.
