US 31E homepage

U.S. 31E is a heavily traveled two-lane road, with limited sight distance, vertical and horizontal curvatures that do not meet current design standards, and inadequate shoulder width. Growing volumes of traffic along the roadway have magnified its deficiencies and greatly increased the chances for traffic accidents along the route. Although reconstruction of U.S. 31E has been discussed for some time, only recently has funding been made available to address growing concerns about the roadway's dangers.
